Description

Looking for ways to use your Geranium EO?
Our aromatherapy expert, Dr. Nicole bou Khalil shares her insightful tips with you.

A Small Bleeding or Cut?

Rinse the affected area and directly apply 1-2 drops of Geranium essential oil- you can also put the drops on a sterile compress and apply it on the wound/cut. Not only will the bleeding stop, but, in addition, the cell-regenerative properties of Geranium EO will expedite the healing process, restoring the skin’s natural integrity.

Nosebleeds?

To promptly stop nosebleeds, place one drop of Geranium essential oil (and an additional drop of cistus EO, if available) on a cotton swab and gently insert it into the nostril. Witness how this simple remedy quickly brings relief.

Suffering from nail fungus?

Combine 5 drops of Geranium essential oil and 10 drops of Tea Tree essential oil in 1 teaspoon (or 5 ml) of a carrier oil, such as apricot, almond, jojoba, or olive oil. Massage a few drops of this blend onto infected nails, three times daily until the fungus disappears.
Be careful not to confuse nail fungus with nail irregularities or psoriasis, which may look slightly similar, but are not treated in the same way.

Want to keep mosquitoes at bay?

  • Bid farewell to those bothersome creatures by adding the following Essential Oils to your diffuser: Geranium, Lemongrass (Cymbopogon citratus or Cymbopogon flexuosis) and Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia).
Diffuse early morning and evening and set the diffuser for 10-15 minutes per hour.
The total number of drops depends on your diffuser’s capacity, so consult the manufacturer’s instructions.
  • No diffuser? Try this quick yet effective solution: Grab your Geranium EO bottle and simply pour 2 or 3 drops onto a handkerchief and place it next to you on your desk. At night simply place the handkerchief on your bed- table and let the aroma diffuse. You can also apply one drop of Geranium EO on your pyjama collar or on the corner of your pillow and you are guaranteed to have a peaceful, undisturbed sleep…
  • Sitting outdoor? A few drops of Geranium EO on a small stone next to where you are seated will keep bugs away. Amplify the repellent effect by adding a drop of lemongrass.
  • Going hiking outdoors and looking to protect your body from mosquito bites?
Simply mix 10 drops of Geranium EO in 1 teaspoon (5ml) of a carrier oil of your choice. Apply this blend to your wrists, elbows and ankles throughout the day.

    Final Recommendation:

When looking to buy Geranium essential oil, only choose a 100% pure and natural essential oil, preferably organic.
Pay close attention to labelling details to ensure the authenticity and quality of the oil you select. You can always ask for advice from our aromatherapy expert

When applying an EO on the skin, always perform a patch test before first application.

Remember to diffuse intermittently, typically 15 minutes per hour, rather than continuously. Avoid diffusing in the presence of asthmatics or children under six years old.
