Description

Do we have to be an adult to use essential oils?

No, but precautions are necessary before using essential oils for children, certain adults and elderly.

Not all essential oils are suitable for use for children, and not all route of administration. For example peppermint should not be used for children before the age of 7. Remember to apply the right dilution for their skin.

Essential oils should not be taken orally by children. If your child is under 7 years, always consult a qualified aromatherapist.

The use of essential oils is not recommended for babies unless under the direct supervision of an experienced and qualified aromatherapist.

Adults such as pregnant and lactating women, people with certain respiratory conditions such asthma, neurological conditions such as epilepsy or seizures, or dermatological conditions such eczema or sensitive skin should use Eo carefully.

Also people with a history of cancer should avoid some EO.

I recommend caution with poly-medicamentated, fragile and elderly people.

Finally in case of doubts, always refer to your certified aromatherapist who knows exactly what can be used in your specific case.
