Propolis

Propolis is also known as “bee glue,” and is the substance derived from the resins used by honeybees when they build their hives. Like honey and royal jelly, propolis is known for its healing properties and is an excellent dermatological remedy for those with sensitive skin. Propolis has been proven to increase immunity and because of its antibacterial properties, it is also a good solution to fight bacterial acne. It soothes redness by cooling the temperature of the skin and not only gets rid of current breakouts, but prevents future acne. Another reason why your pores may be enlarged and prone to acne is because unexfoliated dead skin may be blocking your pores and disrupting the natural balance of yours skin. When propolis is used as an essence, it provides exfoliation, while moisturizing the skin, refining pores while hydrating and plumping the skin. Finally, propolis curbs the damage due to sun exposure, air pollution, and the natural environment by fighting oxidative damage and free radicals, thanks to its high antioxidant content.
