Citronella
Citronella is known for its sweet, refreshing, citrus-like aroma and for its ability to ward off pesky mosquitos, but it also has extensive health benefits for the body. Obtained from the steamed distillation of the leaves of grass belonging to the Cymbopogon family, citronella oil contains vitamins A, C, D, B6, and B12, as well as nutrients, such as sodium, potassium, magnesium, and calcium. It is also considered an anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, antidepressant, antimicrobial, analgesic, hypotensive, and sedative. It is known to provide relief for arthritis and joint pain when massaged into the affected area and also has anti-aging properties when used in skincare products. Its antibacterial properties help cure acne, warts, and boils, as well as keep mosquitos, lice, fleas, and other insects at bay.
