Cajeput
Cajeput is a tree native to Australia and from the same family of the well-known tea tree. It is known for its fresh, herbaceous, fruity fragrance that is similar to that of eucalyptus. The oil is full of medicinal and household applications. Cajeput essential oil is rich in cineole, which helps relieve coughs, colds, and congestion. This same compound, when applied to the skin, can create a warming sensation that promotes blood circulation, which has been shown to relieve pain and cramps. It also has aromatherapy applications, since its light, fruity aroma is great for energizing, decreasing brain fog, and increasing concentration. Similarly, it is also used as a fragrance or freshening agent in soaps, thanks to its mild and sweet aroma, which is lighter and fresher than tea tree and eucalyptus, while retaining many of the same therapeutic properties.
